Job summary

Atlantic Emergency Solutions in Ashland, VA is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems on fire trucks and ambulances.

You will perform preventative maintenance, accurately document repairs and parts usage, and ensure safety inspections are completed so vehicles are ready for service. Work environment emphasizes a clean shop and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty or emergency vehicles.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems
• Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on fire trucks and ambulances

Competitive Pay range: $25.00 - $45.00, depending on experience

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Overtime is available
• No rotating shifts

Work Environment

• Primary work environment is an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed.
