Job summary

Teton County's Jackson Fire/EMS is seeking a Division Chief of Training & Wildfire to lead training, wildfire readiness, and incident command for both career and volunteer staff. The role directs certification courses, annual planning, and leadership development while maintaining public safety standards in Teton County.

Ideal candidate has strong fire service leadership experience, multiple certifications, and the ability to coordinate across divisions.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Fire Science or equivalent with leadership emphasis.
  • Five years as Captain or equivalent in a combi/volunteer department.
  • Valid Wyoming/Idaho Class B Driver’s License with clean record.
  • Fire Officer II and Fire Instructor II certifications or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • EMS licensure and NWCG/NIMS certifications as listed.

Responsibilities

  • As JHFEMS Training Officer, coordinates department training and education activities.
  • Direct wildfire deployments, equipment readiness, and documentation.
  • Serve as incident commander and deputy chief substitute as needed.
  • Maintain department standards, budgets, and policies.
  • Foster interagency partnerships and public safety education.
  • Mentor staff, supervise volunteers, and manage workload.

Education
