Job summary

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) seeks dedicated Workforce Development (WFD) Instructors – Fire Training to join our part-time teaching team. These instructors are responsible for delivering specialized fire training courses and programs scheduled throughout the year.

Instruction may take place at various times and locations to meet community and workforce needs. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, five years of fire service experience, and a valid driver’s

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least five (5) years of fire service experience.
Valid Driver’s License.
Candidates must present completed background clearances and training certificates at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

Deliver classroom and practical fire training in compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and state/national standards.
Develop and update lesson plans, training materials, and scenario-based exercises.
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate training and certification records.
Enforce safety protocols during all training sessions.
Collaborate with Workforce Development staff, local fire departments, and community partners to meet training needs.
Maintain instructor certifications and engage in ongoing professional development.
