Role Overview:

The Fire Systems Technician will be responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing fire alarm systems and related building systems at customer sites, including panel programming, resolving low voltage circuit issues, and system testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior technicians to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable life-safety and fire-safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Perform programming, testing, inspections, and customer training for installations.
  • Complete all documentation related to tasks, activities, and productivity promptly.
  • Detect and troubleshoot system malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Build strong customer relationships through effective communication and service.
  • Maintain the vehicle in a clean and organized manner, stocked with necessary parts and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in low voltage system installation or maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, multimeters, and commissioning devices.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Word, iOS, Android, and Outlook.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Sense of urgency, initiative, dedication, and ownership.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in various environments and conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Specific vision abilities required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
