Job summary

Metro Fire + Security in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician to service, install, repair and replace fire suppression and kitchen hood systems. You will work with various manufacturers, read plans, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CID MS-14 or MM-98 License is required.
• Certificate of Fitness for chemical fire suppression systems from NM State FMO required or to be obtained.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Willing to obtain CSA Certification within first year.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, installation, inspection and repairs on fire suppression and related systems (restaurant hoods, etc.).
• Service and install multiple manufacturers' suppression systems (Ansul, Amerex, Pyro-Chem, etc.).
• Identify NFPA code and non-compliance issues.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals and manufacturer manuals.
• Advise customers on safety issues and compliance.
• Document work with reports prior to leaving job site.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and inventory in vehicles.
• Stay updated with code requirements and industry changes.
