Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Fire Support Specialist to join an elite field artillery team. You will gather intelligence to support infantry and armor units and learn skills valuable for civilian IT and data roles.

As you advance, you may supervise teammates, prepare observer target lists, and participate in selecting and manning observation posts. You will train through Basic and Advanced Individual Training, earning a regular paycheck as you learn artillery tactics.

Qualifications

• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Enlistment in Army National Guard required, along with age and education prerequisites.

Responsibilities

• Provide target acquisition data and relay information to artillery units at all levels.
• Learn to operate communications equipment, laser range finders, and fire support calculation tools.
• Train with fellow Soldiers and assist in developing fire support plans.
