Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Fire Support Specialist to join an elite field artillery team. You will help provide the intelligence needed to support infantry and tank units in combat operations while learning highly sought-after skills for your civilian career.

As you progress, you will supervise teammates, prepare observer target lists, initiate suppressive fire, and help in manning observation posts. Training is paid with benefits and tuition assistance available.

Qualifications

• Must meet enlistment requirements for Army National Guard.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Act as the eyes of an artillery unit, coordinating target locations and relaying information to units at all levels.
• Operate communications equipment, range finders, and assist in preparing fire support plans.
• Supervise and train junior Soldiers and assist in observer target lists and fire control tasks.
