Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Fire Support Specialist to join an elite field artillery team in Nebraska. You’ll become the Forward Observer, providing target acquisition and relaying data to artillery units while learning advanced communications, range finding, and fire plan preparation.

After Basic Training, six weeks of Advanced Individual Training will develop skills in calculating target locations and artillery tactics.

Qualifications

• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.
• Ability to multitask and operate under stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide intelligence to support infantry and tank units in combat operations.
• Operate communications equipment and fire control systems to relay target locations.
