Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in McAllen, TX is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to perform service, maintenance and repair of fire sprinkler systems. You will work independently, diagnose issues, and complete reports with minimal supervision on commercial sites.

We require a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry, and a clean driving record. NICET Level I or higher is preferred. Travel to job sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire and life safety industry is required.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and service procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician independently performs service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician may be considered at a Journeyman level and is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
