Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Steamboat Springs, CO seeks a Sprinkler Service Technician who independently performs service, maintenance and repair of sprinkler systems. You will diagnose deficiencies, follow NFPA standards, complete service reports, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

The role may require travel to job sites, adherence to safety policies, and mentoring entry-level technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of sprinkler systems and service procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.

The Sprinkler Service Technician independently performs service, maintenance, and repair of sprinkler systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician may be considered at a Journeyman level and is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
