Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Systems Project Manager to lead sprinkler projects from design through commissioning. You will work with our sales, installation, and client teams to ensure sound design, seamless installation, and compliant commissioning of projects in the Jacksonville area.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and capability to manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience with commercial fire sprinkler systems and PM duties.
  • Proficient knowledge of OSHA safety standards and NFPA codes.
  • NICET Level II certification required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project phases, coordinating workers, materials, and equipment to meet specs, schedule and budget.
  • Review design drawings for conformance with regulations, project specs, and local/national standards.
  • Provide guidance to field operations and engineering teams.
  • Manage project schedules and manpower forecasts.
  • Interface with customers including contractors, end users, and fire marshals.
  • Coordinate installations and commissioning for assigned projects.
  • Perform field surveys, fire system inspections, and acceptance testing.

SciensBuilding Solutionsisseekingan experiencedFireSprinklerSystemsProject Manager (PM)responsible forthe executionofsprinklerprojects in accordance with project budgets,code compliance, andmanaging the field operationsteam’s work quality and work output.This position will work closely with our sales team, installation team,and clients to ensure a sound design,seamless installation,andprofessionalcommissioning of ourprojects.The PM is a key position for our growing teamandrequires attention to detail in all aspects ofplanning and executing projects. Customer interface and management of staff requirea high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written,are important aspects of the PM position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
  • Oversight for allprojectphases, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
  • Reviewdesigndrawings for conformance withregulations, project specifications,andlocal andnationalstandards.
  • Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the field operations and engineering teams.
  • Manage project schedules and manpower planning forecasts.
  • Interface withcustomers includingcontractors, end users,and fire marshals.
  • Project manage,and coordinate installationsand commissioningfor assigned projects.
  • Perform field surveys, fire system inspections, and acceptance testing.
  • Read and interpret system designs on blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Ability to estimate and propose change orders on projects.
  • Provide monthly updates to project budgets including cost to completes.
  • Customer-focused; skilled in project and people management.
  • Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
  • Proficient in issue resolution.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledgeoffiresprinklerindustry.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
  • Two to five years of experience with commercial fire sprinkler systems, and as a project manager in the fire sprinkler industry.
  • Strong, positive team builder with leadership ability.
  • Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems,as well as backflows and fire pumps.
  • Experience with installation of underground piping.
  • Proficient in NFPA 13, 20, 24 & 72 code requirements.
  • Understanding ofthe technical aspects ofall Sciensproduct lines and applications as necessary to make informed management decisions.
  • NICET level II.
