Job summary

Port of Seattle is seeking a Fire Suppression Systems Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Technician to service airport facilities. The role requires five years of journey-level experience with wet, dry, and deluge systems, and current NICET II or ASSE 15101 with WA Inspector credentials.

Expect on-call duties, extensive documentation, and compliance with NFPA 25. The position is full-time at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with a comprehensive benefits package and overtime opportunities;

Qualifications

  • Five years of journey-level fire suppression systems experience in an industrial environment.
  • Current NICET II license or ASSE 15101 certification or higher and WA Fire/Sprinkler Inspector I&T certification.
  • City of Seattle AS-1 (automatic sprinklers), SC-1 (smoke control), and FA-1 (fire alarm testing) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wet, dry, and deluge fire sprinkler systems across Port of Seattle facilities.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Inspect and test sprinkler systems in accordance with Port policy, NFPA 25, and applicable laws.
  • Provide inspection, testing, and maintenance documentation for inspections, deficiencies, and repairs.
  • Report deficiencies to AHJs promptly to prevent further repairs.

Education

NICET II license or ASSE 15101 certification or higher
WA Fire/Sprinkler Inspector I&T Certification
City of Seattle AS-1, SC-1, FA-1 certifications (desired)
