Job summary

Johnson Controls in Lexington, KY is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to service and repair sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial and residential settings. You will respond to service calls, assess problems, and perform repairs on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge systems and fire pumps.

3-5 years of experience, a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and willingness to travel overnight are required along with a valid driver's license and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler service industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
• Overnight travel may be required
• Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
• Must adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
• Follow verbal and written instructions
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions and contact customer representative to ascertain problems.
• Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial and residential applications including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operation manuals.
• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
