Job summary

Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies in Freehold, NJ is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Service Estimator to help price fire protection systems for developers and contractors. You will prepare estimates, review construction documents, and perform site surveys to determine installation costs.

NFPA standards knowledge and strong communication with clients and teams are essential. Qualified candidates will have an AA or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, and proficiency with MS Office

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hydraulic calculation program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and bid proposals based on evaluation of construction documents
• Perform preliminary surveys of existing buildings to determine costs associated with the installation of fire protection services
• Apply knowledge of NFPA standards to analyze hazards and identify appropriate design approaches
• Read and comprehend plans and specifications
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, and installation labor for both union and open shop projects
• Meet with contractors and subcontractors on site to review site conditions and discuss bid scope when necessary
• Other related duties as assigned
