Job summary

Kelso Industries in Birmingham, AL, seeks a Senior Designer to lead fire protection design for industrial projects. You will deliver complete design, stock listing, and hydraulic calculations, and provide 3D BIM models while coordinating with pre-construction and engineering teams.

NICET certification is preferred; candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, hold a valid driver's license, and demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and strong communication as part of delivering

Qualifications

• NICET Level III certification preferred.
• 10 years’ experience in the fire protection field.
• Must have valid Driver's License with clean record

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with pre-construction team during bid pursuits.
• Provide hydraulic calculations and layout assistance for pre-construction.
• Responsible for managing design on multiple large industrial fire protection projects.
• Work with engineering team to receive permitting and approval on design.
• Ability to manage fast paced design environment on large projects.
• Provide 3D BIM models.
• Attend BIM coordination meetings.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and professional representation and responsiveness for prospects and customers.

About You

As a Senior Designer, you will be a key player within our fire protection team. This role will be responsible for providing complete design, stock listing, and hydraulic calculations to support our industrial/manufacturing focused fire protection pursuits. NICET Certification required.

Responsibilities
