Job summary

Strategic Connections is seeking a Fire Protection Designer (Sprinkler) to design code-compliant fire protection systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects in Raleigh, NC. You will prepare layouts, calculations, and submittals using CAD, Revit, or similar tools, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration.

You should have 2+ years in fire protection design, knowledge of relevant codes, and proficiency with AutoCAD, SprinkCAD,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in fire protection design.
• Familiarity with fire protection codes and standards.
• Proficient with CAD-based design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD).
• NICET certification is a plus, not required; company supports certification.

Responsibilities

• Design code-compliant fire protection systems for various building types.
• Prepare layouts, calculations, and submittals using CAD, Revit, or similar software.

• Stay updated on NFPA and AHJ requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Design code-compliant fire alarm or sprinkler systems for commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
• Prepare layouts, calculations, and submittal drawings using CAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless system integration.
• Stay on top of industry codes and standards (NFPA, AHJ requirements, etc.).
• Review project specs and assist with estimating and material selection.
• Collaborate on innovative, life-saving solutions with a team that has your back.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in fire protection design (alarm, sprinkler, or both)
• Working knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD, Revit, or similar
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• NICET certification (a big plus, but not required — we’ll help you get there)
