Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager for our Fire Division to lead moderately complex projects with medium to high priority. You will provide PM expertise in project management, scope definition, risk identification, resource allocation, and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have five years in the Fire Sprinkler Systems industry, knowledge of codes, and strong communication skills. PMI/PMP certification is expected within two years; NICET certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the Fire Sprinkler Systems/Fire protection industry.
• Knowledge of standards, Underwriter’s requirements, and applicable building codes.
• PMI/PMP certification expected within two years of employment.
• Ability to read and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Proficient in Excel; create tracking spreadsheets and macros.

Responsibilities

• Lead moderately complex projects with medium to high priority.
• Provide PM expertise in scope, risk, schedule, resources, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage vendor relationships during installation and closeout.
• Present project updates to management and customers.
• Ensure projects close on time and in scope.
• Develop comprehensive project plans and conduct progress meetings.
• Coordinate change orders and drive margin improvement.
