Skilled Trades Partners is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Project Manager for a direct-hire opportunity in the Lexington, KY area. You will own projects from award through completion, coordinating with designers, field crews, and general contractors.

The ideal candidate has a field-led background, with experience as a sprinkler fitter, foreman, superintendent, designer, or project manager, and a solid understanding of NFPA 13 and fire protection standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fire sprinkler or fire protection experience preferred.
• Previous experience as Fire Sprinkler Project Manager or similar role.
• Strong ability to read and understand drawings, specs, and submittals.
• Solid understanding of NFPA 13 and applicable fire protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial and industrial sprinkler projects from award to completion.
• Review scope, contracts, drawings, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate kickoff and turnover from estimating to operations.
• Work with designers on drawings, submittals, revisions, and field changes.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and labor scheduling.
• Schedule fitters and field crews; maintain client communication.
• Attend project meetings and report on progress and issues.
• Monitor labor hours, costs, and project profitability.
• Document change orders, RFIs, and closeout records.

Job description

Skilled Trades Partners is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Project Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with an established and growing fire protection contractor in the Lexington, KY area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a fire sprinkler professional with a strong field background who is ready to take ownership of projects from award through completion. The ideal candidate will have experience as a sprinkler fitter, foreman, superintendent, designer, or project manager and understand what it takes to successfully manage commercial and industrial fire protection projects.

You’ll manage multiple new construction and retrofit projects, coordinate closely with designers and field crews, and serve as a key point of contact for general contractors, owners, inspectors, and other project stakeholders. A service background is also a plus.

Local candidates are preferred, but candidates open to relocating to the Lexington area will be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Manage multiple commercial and industrial fire sprinkler projects from award through completion
• Review project scope, contracts, specifications, drawings, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate project kickoff and turnover from estimating/sales into operations
• Work closely with sprinkler designers on drawings, submittals, revisions, and field changes
• Coordinate permitting, material procurement, fabrication, deliveries, labor scheduling, installation, inspections, testing, and project closeout
• Schedule and coordinate sprinkler fitters, foremen, and field crews
• Maintain regular communication with general contractors, owners, superintendents, inspectors, and other trades
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on scheduling, manpower, materials, RFIs, and outstanding issues
• Monitor project labor hours, material costs, budgets, and overall profitability
• Identify potential scope changes and ensure change orders are properly documented, priced, submitted, and tracked
• Coordinate material releases and make sure field crews have the materials and information needed to work efficiently
• Work with field leadership to resolve installation challenges and jobsite conflicts
• Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays or manpower requirements
• Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, schedules, and closeout documents
• Coordinate inspections and communicate with applicable authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
• Ensure projects meet applicable fire protection requirements, project specifications, and quality standards
• Support billing, forecasting, WIP reporting, and project closeout
• Build strong customer relationships and help generate repeat business

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of fire sprinkler or fire protection industry experience preferred
• Previous experience as a Fire Sprinkler Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, Designer, or similar role
• Strong commercial and/or industrial fire sprinkler experience
• Ability to read and understand sprinkler drawings, construction plans, specifications, and submittals
• Solid understanding of sprinkler installation practices, materials, fabrication, and field operations
• Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and applicable fire protection standards
• Experience managing project schedules, labor, materials, subcontractors, and budgets
• Understanding of RFIs, change orders, submittals, purchase orders, and construction documentation
• Strong communication skills with customers, general contractors, inspectors, office personnel, and field crews
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a sprinkler fitter or sprinkler foreman
• NICET certification in Fire Protection / Water-Based Systems
• Experience with large commercial, industrial, healthcare, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar projects
• Familiarity with fire sprinkler design and hydraulic calculations
• Experience with project financials, forecasting, and WIP
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Established relationships with general contractors and construction professionals throughout Kentucky
• Fire sprinkler service experience

Compensation & Benefits

• $110,000–$140,000 salary, based on experience
