Job summary

Impact Fire Services in Salt Lake City is seeking a trainee helper to learn the mechanics of sprinkler system installation. The role involves site clean-up, unloading, staging, distributing materials, cutting and threading pipe, and assisting in testing sprinkler systems under close supervision.

You will receive guidance from a Sprinkler Fitter and must pursue state licensing as a condition of continued employment.

Qualifications

• Follow verbal work instructions and directions.
• Work with moderate supervision and independently when possible.
• Demonstrate initiative to learn trade skills.
• Learn installation, inspection, and servicing codes.
• Read labels, signage and basic math.
• Demonstrate strong customer service orientation.
• Good organization and quick learning.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with a Fire Sprinkler Technician to complete tasks on site.
• Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain licensing.
• Protect and maintain company equipment.
• Maintain vehicle in clean and organized condition.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Fitter/Manager.
