Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector Trainee in Auburn, ME to learn inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems per NFPA standards. You will document results and prepare reports for customers, while growing your skills toward NICET and NEWWA certifications.

Qualifications

• 2 or more years of sprinkler installation or sprinkler service experience is preferred, however will be waived for qualified candidates.
• Willing to become a NEWWA backflow prevention tester.
• Willing to work towards NICET certification in Testing of Water-Based Systems.
• Willing to gain a working knowledge of NFPA 25 and related fire protection codes and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA 25 and applicable codes.
• Learn how to accurately document inspection results and prepare detailed reports for customers.
• Learn how to identify system deficiencies and communicate recommended corrective actions.
• Interact professionally with customers, building owners, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working order.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures on every job site.
