Job summary

Chesapeake Fire Protection, a Century Fire Protection Company, is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to inspect, test, and service water-based sprinkler systems while identifying deficiencies and ensuring readiness for emergencies.

You will read blueprints, test for leaks, document findings, and coordinate with service teams. NICET II/III and Backflow certifications are preferred; a valid MVR and ability to work overtime are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of experience inspecting various fire sprinkler systems or equivalent.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing, and installation.
• NICET II or III certification preferred; Backflow certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Clean MVR required; pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, servicing, installation, and preventative maintenance of water-based sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and NFPA codes.
• Test systems for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.
• Identify deficiencies and complete detailed service documentation.
• Coordinate inspection deficiencies with the service needed to correct them.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and Inspections Coordinator regarding job status and requirements.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
