Job summary

Century Fire Protection seeks a field inspector to test and inspect fire sprinkler systems, identify deficiencies, troubleshoot conditions, and interpret blueprints and manuals in line with experience. You will write detailed reports on inspection findings and coordinate repairs with the service team.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 2–3 years of inspection experience; NICET II/III and Backflow certification preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2–3 years inspecting fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes/standards for inspection, testing and installation.
• NICET II or III Certification (preferred); Backflow Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance of water-based/sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications; understand fire codes.
• Conduct system tests for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.
• Document findings in service reports and paperwork.
• Coordinate inspection deficiencies with service required to address gaps.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Inspections Coordinator about delays, needs, and status.

Summary

Responsible for testing and inspection of fire sprinkler systems, looking for deficiencies, troubleshooting existing conditions, reading and interpreting blueprints and manuals consistent with experience level, ability to write detailed reports regarding inspection deficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance water-based systems and/or sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and fire codes.
• Perform system tests for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.
• Complete service documentation detailing findings as needed.
• Able to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.
• Communicate with Service Manager and/or Inspections Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; 2-3 years experience inspecting various types fire sprinkler systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing and installation; NICET II or III Certification, Backflow Certification preferred.

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

Additional Requirements

Clean MVR, overtime and weekends may be required.
