Job summary

ADVANTAGE FIRE SPRINKLER COMPANY INC in Winder, GA is seeking a field inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to NFPA 25 standards and local codes.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in fire protection, knowledge of NFPA 25, and NICET II or higher certification preferred. You will prepare reports, communicate results to customers, and coordinate with technicians.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 25 and local building codes.
• NICET Level II or higher certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems.
• Verify operation, water flow, pressure, valves and alarms per NFPA 25.
• Identify and document deficiencies, hazards and repair needs.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation.
• Communicate inspection results and recommendations to customers and project managers.
• Coordinate with service technicians for repairs as needed.
• Ensure tools and testing equipment are maintained.
• Comply with safety policies and quality standards.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with codes and best practices.

Summary

Responsible for performing routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company policies; working independently in the field to verify system integrity, identify deficiencies, and provide accurate documentation for customers and internal teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge systems.
• Verify proper system operation, water flow, pressure, valves, and alarm functionality in accordance with NFPA 25 and local fire codes.
• Identify and document deficiencies, hazards, and repair needs accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain complete and organized documentation.
• Communicate inspection results and recommendations to customers and internal project managers.
• Coordinate with service technicians for repair or corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure tools, testing equipment, and inspection materials are properly maintained.
• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with codes, standards, and best practices.

Education and/or Experience

3–5 years of experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems or working in the fire protection industry; knowledge of NFPA 25, building codes, and fire protection systems; NICET LevelII or higher certification in Inspection and Testing of Water‑Based Systems (preferred or ability to obtain).

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces for extended periods; must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; visual acuity required to inspect sprinkler components and read technical documents; work may be performed in various environments, including mechanical rooms, warehouses, ceilings, and outdoor locations. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.
