Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Virginia is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. You will read drawings, perform tests, document activities, and communicate status to customers and internal teams.

Candidates should have 3+ years of fire sprinkler service or installation experience; NICET certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fire sprinkler service or installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards applicable to sprinkler systems.
• Ability to read and interpret system drawings and specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• NICET certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems (wet/dry/pre‑action/deluge).
• Inspect, test, and repair backflow prevention assemblies; diagnose issues and perform repairs.
• Conduct system testing, flushing, and functional checks.
• Document service activities, deficiencies, and corrective actions accurately.
• Communicate system status and service needs with customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate with inspectors, project managers, and other technicians as needed.
• Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory; follow OSHA and safety policies.
• Support emergency and on-call service requests as required.

Education and Experience

High school and 3+ years of fire sprinkler service or installation experience; strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and NFPA standards; ability to read and interpret system drawings and specifications; mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; NICET certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills, email.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, crouching/bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; exposure to varying weather conditions, mechanical systems, and active facilities; overtime and on-call rotation may be required.
