Century Fire Protection in Clearwater, FL is seeking an Inspector/Tester to perform testing and inspection of fire sprinkler systems, identify deficiencies, troubleshoot conditions, and document findings in detailed reports.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting NFPA codes, coordinating with service teams, and maintaining accurate service records. A High School Diploma or GED and 2–3 years of inspection experience are required; NICET II/III and Backflow Certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2–3 years inspecting fire sprinkler systems.
• NICET II or III Certification preferred.
• Backflow Certification preferred; NFPA codes/standards knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance of water-based sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and NFPA standards.
• Conduct system pressure/leak tests with appropriate equipment; document findings.
• Prepare detailed service reports and communicate status to management.
• Coordinate between inspection findings and necessary service actions to meet scope.

Job Details: Job Location: Century Fire Protection Clearwater - Clearwater, FL 33760, Position Type: Full Time, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Div. 151 Clearwater, FL

Summary

Responsible for testing and inspection of fire sprinkler systems, looking for deficiencies, troubleshooting existing conditions, reading and interpreting blueprints and manuals consistent with experience level, ability to write detailed reports regarding inspection deficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance water-based systems and/or sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and fire codes.
• Perform system tests for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.
• Complete service documentation detailing findings as needed.
• Able to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.
• Communicate with Service Manager and/or Inspections Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.

Additional Requirements:

Pre-employment drug screen, Clean MVR, overtime and weekends may be required.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; 2-3 years experience inspecting various types fire sprinkler systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing and installation; NICET II or III Certification, Backflow Certification preferred.

Computer Skills
