Job summary

Century Fire Protection seeks an experienced field inspector to perform routine inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems across our service areas. You will verify water flow, pressure, valve and alarm functionality, and document any deficiencies for customers and project teams.

The role requires on-site work in mechanical rooms, warehouses, and outdoor locations. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in fire protection, knowledge of NFPA 25, and NICET Level II or higher

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 25 and local codes.
• NICET Level II or higher preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and testing of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Verify operation of water flow, pressure, valves, and alarms per NFPA 25 and local codes.
• Document deficiencies, hazards and repair needs accurately.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain organized records.
• Coordinate with service technicians for repairs and corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain tools and inspection equipment and adhere to safety policies.

Division 17 - Augusta, Aiken & ColumbiaSummaryResponsible for performing routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company policies; working independently in the field to verify system integrity, identify deficiencies, and provide accurate documentation for customers and internal teams.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Conduct scheduled inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.Verify proper system operation, water flow, pressure, valves, and alarm functionality in accordance with NFPA 25 and local fire codes.Identify and document deficiencies, hazards, and repair needs accurately and thoroughly.Prepare inspection reports and maintain complete and organized documentation.Communicate inspection results and recommendations to customers and internal project managers.Coordinate with service technicians for repair or corrective actions as needed.Ensure tools, testing equipment, and inspection materials are properly maintained.Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.Participate in ongoing training to stay current with codes, standards, and best practices.Education and/or Experience3–5 years of experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems or working in the fire protection industry; Knowledge of NFPA 25, building codes, and fire protection systems; NICET Level II or higher certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems (preferred or ability to obtain).Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office, Word and Excel.Physical DemandsAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces for extended periods; must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; visual acuity required to inspect sprinkler components and read technical documents; work may be performed in various environments, including mechanical rooms, warehouses, ceilings, and outdoor locations.
