Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking a field service technician to service, maintain and repair fire sprinkler systems to NFPA standards and local codes. You will read drawings, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with inspectors to ensure safe, compliant operation.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, a high school diploma, and NICET certification preferred or the ability to obtain. On-site work with diverse facilities, including on-call rotations, is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; NICET certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and NFPA standards; ability to read and interpret system drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
• Inspect, test, and repair backflow prevention assemblies; troubleshoot failures and complete repairs.
• Diagnose system issues and identify required repairs or corrective actions.
• Conduct system testing, flushing, and functional checks.
• Document service activities, deficiencies, and corrective actions accurately.
• Communicate system status and service needs with customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate with inspectors, project managers, and other technicians as needed.
• Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Support emergency and on-call service requests as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Education And/or Experience

High school and 3+ years of fire sprinkler service or installation experience; strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and NFPA standards; ability to read and interpret system drawings and specifications; mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; NICET certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills, email.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, crouching/bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; exposure to varying weather conditions, mechanical systems, and active facilities; overtime and on-call rotation may be required
