Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a field technician to independently install fire sprinkler systems and interpret project plans. You will work with hand tools, ensure NFPA compliance, and complete installation reports accurately.

Travel to various job sites is required and you will support junior technicians as needed. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fire and life safety, a high school diploma, and preferably NICET Level I.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.

Responsabilités

• Install fire sprinkler systems per project plans.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs for installation.
• Use hand tools and installation equipment to complete tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Complete documentation and installation reports accurately and timely.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams effectively.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Independently perform installation of fire sprinkler systems.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for installation projects.
• Use hand tools and installation equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and installation reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler system installation practices.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
