Job summary

Professional Fire Protection in Norfolk, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer / Estimator to design fire sprinkler systems, prepare accurate cost estimates, and support project execution from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate will have NFPA knowledge, hydraulic calculation experience, and proficiency in CAD-based design software (AutoCAD). 2–3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and/or estimating.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software; experience with hydraulic calculation tools.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and related fire protection standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design Fire Sprinkler Systems: Develop detailed layouts and schematics for fire sprinkler systems using CAD or related software.
• Estimate Project Costs: Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure designs meet NFPA standards, building codes, and client specifications.
