Job summary

Impact Fire Services in Austin, TX is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our growing team. You will conduct on-site surveys, design new sprinkler systems, and perform hydraulic calculations to ensure compliant, safe fire protection solutions.

Ideal candidates have HydraCAD experience, NFPA 13 knowledge, and the ability to manage submittals to AHJ. We offer apprenticeship paths, robust training, and a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• NFPA 13 knowledge is required or preferred.
• 2 years of fire sprinkler design experience with HydraCAD.
• Experience with general submittal procedures to AHJ.
• 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience with HydraCAD (Preferred).
• Experience with Fire Pump design (Preferred).
• Experience with Standpipes (Preferred).
• Experience with Storage design (Preferred).
• NICET Level 2 in Water-Based Systems Layout (Preferred).
• RME-G preferred (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• On-site surveys of existing fire sprinkler systems.
• Draw ground-up new fire sprinkler systems.
• Run hydraulic calculations.
• Create and check stocklists.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ability to perform on-site surveys of existing fire sprinkler systems with accuracy
• Ability to draw ground up new fire sprinkler systems
• Ability to run hydraulic calculations
• Ability to run and check stocklists

REQUIREMENTS

Preferred

• 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience with HydraCAD
• Experience with Fire Pump design
• Experience with Standpipes
• Experience with Storage design
• NICET Level 2 in Water-Based Systems Layout
• RME-G preferred.

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
