Thomas Mechanical & Fire Protection in Laurens, SC seeks a Fire Sprinkler Designer & Project Manager to design code‑compliant sprinkler systems and manage projects from inception to completion. Proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoSprink, NFPA standards, and BIM/Revit MEP is expected.

The role combines design and coordination with clients, contractors, and internal teams, requiring 2+ years of experience, a relevant degree, NICET certification preferred, and strong time management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design or project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, and other fire protection design software; BIM/Revit MEP experience.

Responsibilities

• Design detailed fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or similar software.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure NFPA compliance and local codes.
• Prepare submittals, fabrication lists, and installation drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and general contractors during the design process.
• Manage all phases of fire sprinkler projects from bid through close-out.
• Coordinate scheduling, materials procurement, and labor resources.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and profitability.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders, providing updates and resolving issues.
