Job summary

Symons Fire Protection, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a dependable Design Coordinator to support planning, design, estimating, and coordination of fire sprinkler projects from proposal through completion.

You will work closely with project managers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and team members to develop accurate designs, maintain schedules, and ensure safety and compliance with codes and standards. Strong CAD and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience in fire sprinkler design, engineering, estimating, construction, or related field preferred.
• NICET certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review project proposals, plans, specifications, and contracts to establish objectives and requirements.
• Coordinate project activities with supervisors, PMs, customers, contractors, and team members.
• Develop accurate fire sprinkler system drawings and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare project documentation, estimates, and cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
