Job summary

Ironsmith Fire, LLC is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to create detailed plans for installation across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. The Designer reports to the Design Manager and collaborates with architects, engineers, and field teams.

Responsibilities include evaluating blueprints, calculating water flow, selecting components, and producing accurate shop drawings and submittals while meeting deadlines and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering technology preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years in fire sprinkler design or NICET Level II.
• Comprehensive understanding of the fire protection industry and regulations.
• Certifications related to fire protection or leadership are advantageous, NICET preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess building blueprints to determine sprinkler placement and type.
• Calculate water flow and pressure requirements for the system.
• Create detailed drawings and schematics of layouts.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities for compliance.
• Prepare shop drawings, closeout documents, and stocklists.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities on site.
