Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is looking for a field technician to assist with installation, operation, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential settings. You will inspect, test, and prepare timely inspection reports while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include upgrading systems, reporting issues, and performing alarm tests. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or out-of-town

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting skills
• Good interpersonal skills; able to work in team and independently
• Reliable transportation to/from office or job site
• Flexible scheduling; evenings/weekends/out-of-town assignments occasionally
• Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs
• Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, codes, and regulations
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
• Ability to use or repair small/light equipment (power tools, ladders, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Install or upgrade sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings
• Test and repair sprinkler systems already in place
• Perform inspections to ensure sprinklers are installed according to code
• Complete detailed inspection reports documenting issues
• Report results of work in an accurate and timely manner
• Protect and maintain company equipment
• Work safely per company safety procedures including driver safety and PPE
• Interact with customers in a mature and professional manner
• Install or upgrade fire sprinklers in commercial and residential buildings
• Test and repair alarms systems already in place
• Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code
• Respond to emergency service calls
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
