Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a dedicated technician to assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in both commercial and residential settings.

You will test, inspect, and repair systems, document findings, and ensure compliance with codes while protecting company equipment and working safely with customers. A reliable worker able to travel as needed is preferred.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team or independently.
• Reliable transportation to/from office or job site.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and out-of-town assignments as required.
• Ability to recognize deviations through inspection programs and report them.
• Ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes and regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to use or repair small/light equipment such as power tools, ladders, and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Install or upgrade sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings.
• Test and repair sprinkler systems already in place.
• Perform inspections to ensure sprinklers are installed according to code.
• Complete detailed inspection reports documenting any issues.
• Report results of work completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Protect and maintain company equipment.
• Work safely according to company procedures including PPE.
• Interact with customers professionally.
• Install or upgrade fire sprinklers in commercial and residential buildings.
• Test and repair alarm systems already in place.
• Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code.
• Respond to emergency service calls.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
