Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice to assist in laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems. The ideal candidate is coachable and mechanically inclined.

The role involves working under Sprinkler Technician Journeymen to install pipe systems, cut and assemble pipes, and follow blueprints. A high school diploma and license enrollment are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Must enroll and obtain current Fire Sprinkler License.
• Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge
• Read electronic blueprints (strongly preferred)
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and learn under Sprinkler Technician Journeymen: Install pipe systems and valves.
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond pipes and tubes according to specifications.
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings; Remove and replace worn components.
• Learn to follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
• Learn how to calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
• Learn proper installation techniques.
• Other duties may be assigned.
