Job summary

SciensBuilding Solutions in California is seeking a Sprinkler Apprentice to assist with the installation of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and components. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and a path to a rewarding career in the Fire and Life Safety industry.

You will join a growing team, attend safety meetings, read blueprints, and coordinate with trades to keep projects on schedule and budget. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willing to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
• Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.
• Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed.
• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
