Job summary

SciensBuilding Solutions in New York is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of fire sprinkler systems. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in the fire and life safety industry and supports a growing team.

You will assist technicians, read blueprints, and help install piping while traveling to local sites. A safety mindset, willingness to learn, and a valid driver’s license are essential; OSHA 10 may be pursued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willing to travel to local job site locations.
• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional up to 50 pounds; able to climb ladders and stand/walk for long periods.
• Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications.
• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Occasionally communicate with contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

SciensBuilding Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This is a key position for our growing team and requires someone who is interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and a desire to start a career in the exciting and sustainable fire/life safety industry.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well)!

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.

• Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications

• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
