Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a dedicated Leader in security to supervise staff, greet visitors, and maintain a professional presence on site in New York. You will monitor the facility, detect suspicious activity, manage access, and coordinate with customers and tenants.

The role requires a Fire Safety Directors license, a valid security guard license, and reliable transportation. You will respond to emergencies, train staff, and prepare incident reports while upholding company values and

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Fire Safety Directors license required.
• Must obtain a security guard license within a reasonable period.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Prior security, law enforcement or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor the environment for suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests; manage access.
• Answer phones professionally and make clear announcements.
• Enforce facility policies and follow emergency action planning.
• Monitor alarms and fire protection devices.
• Oversee scheduling, overtime, daily logs, and incident reports.
• Train staff in fire emergency response and participate in drills.
• Prepare inspection reports and logs; maintain records.
• May perform fire-fighting duties during emergencies.
• Perform other inspections and safety duties as required.
• Comply with security licenses and customer site requirements.
• State or municipality mandated licenses.
