Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in Manhattan seeks a Security Fire Safety Director to lead security and life-safety operations, ensuring professional, customer-focused service for people and property. Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have Fire Safety Directors license.
• Knowledge of fire inspection operations, and procedures.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Security guard license or able to obtain one in a timely manner.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to write routine detailed correspondence and logs.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff professionally and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility.
• Monitor the environment for suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Control entry/exit and know facility policy enforcement.
• Follow emergency action plans, fire protection and safety standards.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Schedule, overtime management, and daily log/incident review.
• Test and inspect fire extinguishers and protection devices.
• Train others in fire emergency response plans.
• May perform other safety duties as required.
