Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in the Cincinnati area is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. This role requires reading blueprints and manuals, using hand tools and testing equipment, and delivering accurate service documentation.

Ohio Fire Alarm license is preferred; a valid driver’s license is required and applicants must live

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Ohio Fire Alarm License preferred; willingness to obtain license if not held.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Must reside in the Mason/Cincinnati surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts, and manuals; use hand tools and testing equipment.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors about progress and status.
• Follow all safety procedures and customer site requirements; travel to job sites as required.
