Job summary

Thompson Safety is seeking a Fire Sales Specialist to develop new business and lead generation within an assigned territory. You will build your territory to maximize growth for Thompson Safety.

Responsibilities include cold calling, maintaining CRM records, and expanding the sales pipeline while supporting marketing initiatives and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent sales experience.
• Familiar with codes and products in fire protection and life safety.
• Strong prospecting and relationship-building capabilities.
• Proficient with CRM technology to document activity and track results.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists the Company in developing new business opportunities through cold calls and leads.
• Utilizes CRM technology to document activity and track results.
• Maintains contact with prospects through sales calls and phone block.
• Develops new appointments through scheduled phone sessions to ensure activity and pipeline.
• Assists in Company marketing programs/initiatives.
• Contacts potential customers to initiate the sales process and win the business.
• Observes and benchmarks other Fire Sales Specialists to establish and replicate best practices.
• Consistently installs new business within assigned geography.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred and/or success in other sales/service positions at Thompson Safety.
• Familiar with codes, products attributes, and procedures within the fire protection and life safety fields.
• General awareness of business, financials, sales, and safety principles.
• Strong ability to utilize technology to increase the prospecting experience.
• Strong ability to prospect, close, and build rapport with prospects.
• Professional certification may be required in some areas.
• Maintains a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and ability pass a drug and background check.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking on the phone, attending virtual online meetings, and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel when needed.
