Job summary

State of South Carolina Adjutant General's Office seeks a Fire Safety Officer III to maintain 24-hour response for aircraft, structural, vehicular and medical incidents, and to supervise crew training and equipment readiness.

The role requires NFPA 1001/1072 qualifications, CFETP training, and the ability to perform inspections and incident analysis while directing fire safety operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must possess and maintain a current State driver’s license.
• Must meet all special requirements for Fire Safety Officers I/II/III.
• Must meet NFPA 1001 for Firefighter I/II and NFPA 1072 Hazmat Awareness/Operations/Technician; NREMR or NREMT, Fire Officer I, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I/II, ISO.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 24-hour response capability for aircraft, structural, vehicular, medical and other emergencies.
• Supervise shift personnel and manage time & leave.
• Organize fire safety prevention education and pre-incident planning.
• Perform hazard/Risk assessments and incident analysis.
• Conduct training and certify documentation for CFETP/ACES/FD.
