Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is seeking a Lead Instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy. You will teach Industrial and Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) and support Haz-Mat, Municipal, and Rescue programs.

You will market and coordinate courses, handle registrations and billing, and assist with equipment setup. The role requires engaging with public safety partners and may involve on-call emergency deployments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with relevant program experience.
• 3 years’ instructional experience in fire prevention/related courses.
• Extensive knowledge of NFPA standards and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy.
• Teach Industrial and Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) and assist with Haz-Mat, Municipal, and Rescue programs.
• Market, plan, and coordinate programs: register students, bill, prepare contracts, and submit payments after completion.
• Assist with minor maintenance and setup of fire equipment and props.
• Serve on the site emergency team and may deploy to incidents as part of the Incident Support Team and Firefighter Mobilization.
