Job summary

Arup is seeking participates for Early Careers to contribute to life safety and fire protection projects in a multi‑discipline environment across offices. You will learn to integrate fire strategy concepts into design and review drawings with senior engineers, engaging with architects and clients.

You will gain exposure to smoke control analyses, fire modeling and development of fire safety strategies while pursuing a related engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and strong planning abilities.
• Proactive, enthusiastic and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting for life safety, building and fire code compliance.
• Assist senior engineers in incorporating fire and life safety strategies into design and drawings.
• Contribute to development of fire alarm, detection, and fire suppression system documents.
• Support site visits and coordination with architects, contractors and consulting teams.
• Participate in client meetings and internal team discussions.
• Perform smoke control analyses and assist with fire modeling and egress modeling.
• Assist with the development of structural fire calculations and safety strategies for special hazards.
