Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Intern for our Arlington, VA office. This internship, starting Summer 2027, focuses on developing fire suppression designs, fire alarm systems, mass notification, and life safety code analysis under guidance of senior engineers.

Interns gain hands-on experience through assigned duties, work closely with engineers, and build a broad, well-rounded skill set in engineering design and project support.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field; minimum 1 year completed.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
