Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented student to fill the Fire Safety Assistant role within the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) unit. You will support routine inspection and maintenance activities related to campus fire safety, including checks of extinguishers and suppression systems.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexible scheduling within that window.

Position Summary

SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Safety Manager and the Fire Safety team, the Fire Safety Assistant will support routine inspection and maintenance activities related to campus fire safety. Responsibilities include assisting with fire extinguisher and fire suppression system checks. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and flexible scheduling is available within this timeframe.
