$26.14 hourly. Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa/Travels Countywide. Work schedule Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Must handle planned and unplanned overtime and on‑call duty. Performs skilled crafts and trades work in maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline Fire Rescue vehicles and related equipment: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pumping, drivetrain systems and components.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working on diesel and gasoline equipment, including two (2) years in heavy equipment and fire pump mechanics. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s license and maintain it during employment. ASE and EVT certifications are preferred.
- In event of hurricane, major storm, or disaster threats the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
