Position Overview:

Silco is seeking a dedicated candidate with a strong work ethic to join us as an Advanced Fire Systems Technician Trainee. The trainee will assist in conducting inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and sprinklers under the supervision of experienced technicians. This role offers hands-on training to prepare the trainee for a career as a certified Fire Protection Technician.

Responsibilities:

1. Inspection & Testing: Assist in inspecting and testing fire alarm and sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations. Use specialized tools to conduct performance tests and troubleshoot issues.
2. Maintenance & Repairs: Support maintenance and repair activities, including component replacement and system adjustments. Assist in diagnosing and fixing malfunctions under senior technician guidance.
3. Documentation & Reporting: Complete inspection reports, document findings, and maintain accurate records of all activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
4. Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training programs and shadow senior technicians to gain practical experience and knowledge.
5. Compliance & Safety: Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring work complies with fire safety codes and standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical installation, low voltage, and repair.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Compensation:

Range from $60,000 to $75,000+ based on experience and productivity, with quarterly bonuses and annual raises.
