Job summary

HGA is offering a paid Summer 2027 internship in Fire Protection & Life Safety Engineering in Boston, MA or Washington, DC. The 12-week program begins by June 1, 2027, with flexibility for schedule adjustments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering (Fire Protection emphasis preferred), Fire Protection Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited program.
• Currently a junior, senior, or graduate student.
• Experience with Revit.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and review of fire protection systems.
• Participate in design review meetings, workshops, and project coordination activities.
• Support the preparation of comprehensive fire protection design packages.
• Assist with construction administration and project support activities.
• Participate in site evaluations and documentation of existing fire protection systems.
• Gain exposure to building code requirements, fire and life safety systems, and multidisciplinary project teams.
